The defender joked that his goal was the result of hours of work
Gerard Pique spoke pitchside after Barcelona's 2-1 Champions League win over PSV Eindhoven on Wednesday.
The centre-back spoke about Barça winning their group for a 12th consecutive year: "That shows that in recent years we have had a great generation of players. It was one of the most difficult groups of recent years. It's not been easy to get through, but we have been solid in nearly every game."
However, he admitted Barça weren't great in Holland: "PSV generated danger in the first half, a lot of that came from us losing the ball. There were three of four (losses) near the area. They hit the woodwork. In the second half we were much better, although we suffered in the last 10 because they were pushing (to equalise)."
REHEARSED FREE KICK?
Pique scored Barça's second goal after Lionel Messi's opener although there was some debate about whether it was meant after he deflected home the Argentine's free kick.
"It was a rehearsed move," he said, half joking. "We practice it a lot and it came off perfectly..." He added that "we know what Leo is, he has a lot of weapons and in every game he shows something different."
The centre-back says the team "know how to compete in the Champions League. We have demonstrated that in the last 10, 15 years. The good part of the competition is still to come, the most difficult part. Knockout rounds are different, you can't have a bad day, we know that."
