Barcelona's Urban Guard stopped the player and after checking his details, it was confirmed he was driving without a valid license

FC Barcelona player, Gerard Pique, has been charged this Friday by Barcelona's Urban Guard for driving whilst having no points on his license. This is according to information from Cadena SER who say the event happened just before 3PM.

The radio station claim that Urban Guard officers asked for Pique's documentation and driving license and later cross-checked his details. They discovered that the player had been driving without any points on his license after the DGT had removed them due to previous traffic infractions."

Driving without any points on your license is always classified as a crime and it could see the player fined up to €6,000 or, in the worst case scenario, handed a six-month prision sentence.

This isn't the first time Pique has had issues on the road. In October 2014 he was fined €10,500 after an altercation with another Urban Guard officier. He was hit with a minor infraction of 'disobedience' for his actions that evening.

In 2011 he was 'caught' on Twitter sat in the front seat with one of his children, Milan, in his arms rather than having him in a specific seat. His wife Shakira was driving the car at the time.
