The Barcelona defender was sent off against Osasuna in his final professional match

The RFEF published on Wednesday the sanctions for Gerard Piqué and Robert Lewandowski after their red cards in the last game of LaLiga Santander 2022-23 against Osasuna.

Lewandowski has been awarded a three-game ban, while Gerard Piqué has been suspended for four games.

RFEF statement

"Insults, verbal offenses and insulting attitudes (99). Suspend Mr. Gerard Pique Bernabeu for four games, by virtue of article/s 99 of the Disciplinary Code, considering that the facts included in the referee's report, with an accessory fine for the club of the amount of €1,400 and €2,400 for the offender in the application of article 52."

Won't serve ban

The Catalan central defender announced that the game against Osasuna would be his last game as a footballer, so Piqué will not be able to fulfill the sanction imposed by the league after the exchange of words he had with Gil Manzano.

After the end of the first half at El Sadar, Piqué went to look for the referee on the pitch and accompanied him to the changing room tunnel, where he allegedly disrespected Gil Manzano, who later sent him off.
