Barcelona captain Gerard Pique admitted Sevilla were the better team in the second half as the Catalans were beaten 2-0 in the Copa del Rey quarterfinal first leg.

But Pique is already thinking about turning things around at Camp Nou next week: "It wasn't to be tonight. "We have to congratulate Sevilla, but we must think about the second leg. And if it's not to be the case [that we turn things around], we will have to accept it.

"Now we ahve a week to recover, to continue our good run in LaLiga with the visit to Girona and then prepare for the second leg and focus completely on the tie."

The defender recognised that Barça "weren't too used" to Sevilla's plan and "it went well [for them] but we must focus on ourselves and prepare well for the second leg."

Asked if Lionel Messi will return to the side for the second leg, Pique concluded: "That's a decision for the coach [Ernesto Valverde]."
