Philippe Coutinho takes medical in Qatar to look at his injury
The Brazilian midfielder is having his knee problem looked at during the international break
FC Barcelona midfielder Philippe Coutinho, injured for several months and without having played a minute in 2021, is having a medical in Qatar to get an update on the injury he suffered against Eibar, Achraf Ben Ayad has reported.
In principle the injury to the meniscus in his left knee, which he had an operation on in January, should have kept him out for three months. However, with that time nearly up, it seems like Coutinho will not make it.
Recently he has been linked with Arsenal. The 28-year-old is hoping to return to help the team towards the end of this season, but if he plays 10 more games for Barcelona, to take him to 100 in total, the club will have to pay Liverpool 20 million euros more.
