The Brazilian midfielder did not seem keen to warm up against Celta Vigo in the 3-3 draw

Philippe Coutinho has defended himself in a press conference with Brazil. He was asked about his seemingly bad attitude when being asked to warm up by Sergi Barjuan against Celta Vigo after Ansu Fati’s injury.

“I was very surprised when I saw the news because in all my career I have never been unprofessional, they can look wherever I went, I always respected everyone,” said Coutinho.

In the same press conference the player was also annoyed by some reports. “Journalists always believe a lot of things.”

The player says he’s 100 per cent over his injury. “It was not easy to be out for so long but I feel very good. Physically I’m well and I have no pain or problems, now what I need is time to find my best level.”

Coutinho added: “Since I’ve been fit I’ve not had a run of four or five games starting to show my best level.”
