Philippe Coutinho could end up in Qatar and Barça could cash in on the deal

If there is a big transfer fee involved, Barça could take a cut

It's been a busy end to the summer at Barcelona. In the midst of the possible arrival of Joao Cancelo and rumours about the future of Joao Felix, Barça could receive big news from an unexpected player: Philippe Coutinho is being seduced by Qatar and Saudi Arabia, an operation in which Barça could make a good profit.

A little more than a year ago, Barça transferred Coutinho to Aston Villa for 20 million euros, a sum that was very welcome in the coffers of the Catalan club, who had little hope of receiving offers for the Brazilian player. In addition, Barça reserved 50% of the capital gain from a future sale of the player.

Thanks to a good half-season in the Premier League, the English side backed him, but now he is not in Unai Emery's plans for Aston Villa, a team that will play in the Conference League this year and that aspires to break into the 'Big Six', under the eyes of the big clubs. The Birmingham outfit, therefore, are already listening to offers for him.

Qatar & Saudi Arabia

Despite Saudi Arabia being the big name this summer, Qatar are not short of money either, and the Middle Eastern country are more than determined to sign Philippe Coutinho. According to Fabrizio Romano, Qatari clubs will insist on acquiring the services of the Brazilian. Everything points to a decision being made in the final days of the window.

The offers may be in the form of a loan deal, but Aston Villa will do all they can to close a transfer and bring this chapter to an end.

At 31 years of age, all indications are that the Brazilian's career in Europe could be over. His spell at Barça was the beginning of the end, and despite an attempt at 'resurrection' at Aston Villa, life has put 'Cou' back in his place, relegated to a testimonial role on the bench. His departure from the old continent is more than likely.

Beyond Qatar's insistence, in Saudi Arabia he is also being considered as an option. The revolution in the Arabian country this summer has been 'pharaonic', so the arrival of a name like Coutinho would not surprise anyone. However, the Saudi Pro League has other players marked as a priority before the No.10.

Barça watching

The biggest beneficiary in this whole situation could be Barça. When they included the capital gain clause for a future transfer, nobody was confident that it could be enforced, as the player's age was not in line, but the emergence of an economic power like Qatar could bring down the first piece of the dominoes.

The Blaugrana are not too optimistic, since everything could come to nothing, but the 50% that they reserved of the capital gain is more than significant to be alert to the situation. Coutinho's market value is valued at around 10 million, but the Qatari ambitions may even increase this amount.

In any case, the Catalan giants are keeping a close eye on the Brazilian's future, which could be resolved by the end of August.
