"People have to be excited about the team," says FC Barcelona midfielder Gavi
The seventeen-year-old begins his second season at Barça feeling inspired, and believes the new signings will bring competition and improve the team.
Gavi, still waiting to sign his renewal, is enjoying the tour of the United States, with Barça's squad in what will be his second season at the club. The youth academy player says he is enjoying the experience and is excited with what he is seeing every day in training and matches.
"I'm very happy to tour with the team, I was already looking forward to it after the national team. We have played two games and now there are two more to go," Gavi told the club's official media. "I am the first to be excited about this team and people have to be excited because we have made very good signings, we have already seen them play", he said about the atmosphere in the dressing room this preseason.
Gavi believes that the signings will bring competition and improve the team, as was emphasised in the recent clásico. "We went out to win the clásico, we played at our best and I'm very happy to win because, in the end, it's a clásico. We have to continue like this in the next matches. People should be optimistic and excited, we will try to give our best in every game for our fans," he insisted. He also insisted that for this second season he is just as excited as the first season, but with more experience. "I hope it will be a very nice and happy season for everyone," he finished.
