Pedri will not be ready to face Athletic Bilbao
The Barca midfielder is hurt still and the club are taking it easy
FC Barcelona midfielder Pedri Gonzalez will not be ready for San Mames, according to RAC1 and confirmed by Relevo. After suffering an injury to his right rectus anterior muscle in the right leg against Manchester United in the Europa League, he will not take any risks with his return to the group dynamic.
The Canary Islander, who is a fundamental part of Xavi Hernandez's system, had a recovery period of between three and four weeks out, but although the deadline has passed, the coaching staff wants to be cautious: last season he suffered too many minutes and missed the initial and final stretch of the season due to physical problems.
The former Las Palmas player has missed three La Liga games and another in the Copa del Rey and will also miss the league game against Athletic Club. His participation in the Clasico on 19 March is still up in the air.
