Ansu, Gavi and Araujo will also be offered new long-term contracts at Camp Nou

SPORT have learned that Barcelona are set to extend Pedri Gonzalez's contract until 2026 this week, with the option for an additional season.

Midfielder Pedri's new terms will include a €400 million release clause once again, which is the amount in his current deal as well.

The agreement is in place and Barça hope to be able to announce it on Thursday or Friday of this week.

The new terms include a significant pay rise for Pedri, despite the club's financial situation. The salary increase has been possible because he was one of the lowest earners at the club, given he hasn't renewed since signing from Las Palmas.

It was time that he had wage hike because he's already become one of the club's key players, despite being just 18 and last season being his first at Camp Nou and in LaLiga.

Barça hope Pedri will be the first of the club's youngsters to agree new terms, with Ansu Fati, Gavi and Ronald Araujo next in line for long-term contracts.

The club's idea is to tie them all down until 2026 as they're the players the first team will be built around in the coming years.
