Pedri: "My main objective is to debut and enjoy playing football"
The player is focused on learning from the best and working hard to help out his teammates
FC Barcelona's new signing, Pedro 'Pedri' Gonzalez, has explained his early impressions at the club and what his plans are for the future.
"Passing football is my best virtue. My aim is to make the others play, and enjoy playing football," Pedri told the club's official website. "I feel comfortable playing in the hole, although it's true that I've played on the wing -on both sides. It's good to be versatile. That's important for a player, because it means the coach can use you in other positions."
The 17-year-old admits his first objective is to debut for the senior side. "I haven't done that yet, and I'm looking forward to it. I have to improve and work hard to do that. Whatever my debut is, I will always remember it. It will be the most special day of my life, because I've always dreamed of that."
Pedri admits his time in the Segunda Division has aided his development and improved his confidence.
"I've been welcomed very well and I'm very happy. I'm really happy to have this opportunity. Training at the Ciutat Esportiva is a luxury. I hope that I can enjoy the facilities for many years. I've been amazed."
"Right away, from the moment I met my teammates, I've felt really good. Trincao and I, for example, have got on very well. Likewise, with Matheus. I am really looking forward to enjoying time with all of my teammates, and learning from them."
