The young Barça star spoke to the press ahead of this week's Champions League games

Barcelona's newest star, Pedri Gonzalez, spoke to the press on Tuesday ahead of this week's Champions League game against Dynamo Kyiv.

He has earned rave reviews following starts in the Clasico against Real Madrid and then away against Juventus but says he's not letting it go to his head.

"I think from the start I have lived everything with normality," he said. "I have to keep working hard because I am young and can improve, I'm taking it all very normally, as my family brought me up.

"I arrived from Las Palmas in the second decision with the intention of staying, but I didn't expect to have so many minutes. I am very happy and I want to play as much as possible.

"Everyone gives me the same advice. They have been through it all and they say it's about keeping your feet on the ground and improving. The best thing is learning from the best players and keep on working."

Media punta

Pedri added that he feels most comfortable through the middle but that "it's good to play various positions and help the team wherever necessary. I think I generate the most danger as a media punta but I can play elsewhere."

And on Lionel Messi, he said: "He helps a lot on the pitch, the advice he gives is great. We have to enjoy him and not get involved in his future, that's his decision, it's just about learning from him."

Finally, on his goal against Ferencvaros, he said: "When a kid fulfils a dream, you feel very happy and don't believe it ... that's the feeling I felt when it all happened and I still think that and I love the day I was able to experience."
