The Dutch legend is the favourite to be confirmed as the new Director of La Masia

Patrick Kluivert remains the favourite to become the new Director of La Masia at FC Barcelona. The Dutch legend rumoured to be finalising the minor details of his contract and the club hopes to make an official announcement on the role this week. Silvio Elias is expected to be there for the official signing, just as he was when Victor Valdes was confirmed as the new Juvenil A coach.

As revealed by SPORT last Friday, Kluivert is one of the favourites to take over the new role and now. His most recent role with Cameroon has come to an end and is now firmly in the frame to become responsible for the management of the entire La Masia academy.

However, Kluivert wouldn't be arriving alone. If confirmed in the role he would name Xavi Roca, a former Barça player who knows the academy structure well, and possibly Álex García as part of his team. Garcia has been linked with a similar role in recent years but would work as an assistant to both Kluivert and Roca. Below that trio is likely to be three coordinators: Jordi Roura (Barça B), Aureli Altimira (Juveniles and Infantiles) and another person who will join the Barça Academy overseeing the 'Football 7' side.

The new director would also need to speak about Guillermo Amor and Bakero's positions going forward.

The majority of the current Football XI and Football 7 sides don't have a head coach confirmed for next season yet.
