The French club want to avoid the forward returning to Barça this summer

Lionel Messi's move to Paris Saint-Germain as a free agent in 2021 surprised the football world. When it seemed he would renew with Barcelona, an agreement within LaLiga's spending cap could not be reached.

This season, the last of his two-year deal with PSG, and with the World Cup around the corner, a possible return to Camp Nou is once again the source of speculation.

However, according to Cadena Ser, PSG will make the Argentine forward a stratospheric offer to avoid him returning home to Barcelona.

PSG's offer is simple: a two-year renewal (in the format of one plus one) with financial conditions similar to what he is now earning, around €30 million net per season.

Renew at any cost

PSG's sporting director, Luis Campis, has already told RMC of the club's intention to ensure Messi stays at the club, where he is now showing his best form in his second year in France. 

In 11 games in all competitions, he has scored six goals and set up eight more. In total, 14 goal contributions which reflect his important to the team at 35 years of age.
