Palanca Jean-Clair Todibo! Barca set to make more money

Jean-Clair Todibo's time at Nice is ticking down. The French centre-back, according to 'L'Equipe', is one step away from a transfer to Manchester United. In fact, several newspapers claim that the Côte d'Azur club is already looking for a replacement on the market.

From afar, FC Barcelona are rubbing their hands together with all this. And the fact is that the Catalan giants have cleverly kept 20% of a future sale of the player. In this way, if United pay around 30 million (this is the figure that is being considered) the club presided over by Joan Laporta would pocket around 6 million euros.

Think back to 2019 when FC Barcelona agreed with the player that he would arrive on a free in June. Toulouse pulled him aside and the Barcelona club closed the deal for just over a million euros. In fact, the first time he posed in Barça kit was for SPORT at Toulouse's Cité Sportif.

He arrived unused in January and hardly had any opportunities. He went on loan to Schalke, where things didn't go very well (they were relegated) and the following season he joined Benfica. That didn't work out either.

The next step was to return to his country. Nice bought him on loan and kept an option to buy him for 8.5 million euros. He found his feet again, matured and became a leader in the defence of the Mediterranean team.

Nice did not hesitate to exercise the option at the end of the season. For Barça, it was a great deal. But there would be even more.

If his departure to United is confirmed, FC Barcelona will have earned around 14-15 million euros for a player for whom they paid little more than one.
