The pact with Luis Suarez that Luis Enrique is having doubts about

The Barcelona coach, in theory, would leave Suarez on the bench against Depor, but he's not sure

Luis Suarez and Luis Enrique have a really good relationship. The manager recognised recently that he has a pact with the trident, which includes the Uruguayan striker.

The Barcelona coach explained to Suarez that it was necessary to manage his minutes so that he remains fresh at the end of the season. It’s especially important, Enrqiue explained, to be careful after international breaks and long flights. Luis Suarez understood the motives, which was also behind the signing of another No.9, Paco Alcacer.

The pact between Suarez and Luis Enrique was present after the first international break, when the Charrua was left on the bench against Alaves and only came on at the end as Barça looked for a way back into the game.

Now Suarez is returning from two intense games against Venezuela and Colombia. In the agreement with Luis Enrique, he would be a substitute against Deportivo and he’d accept it without complaint. The only nuance is that Suarez has returned in great form and Enrique is having doubts about leaving him on the bench, conscious that Depor have one of the league’s best defences.

In addition, in the case that he does decide to start Suarez, he could give him a rest in the second half, with a replacement such as Lionel Messi likely to be waiting on the bench for some minutes of his own.
