The new Barcelona signing is an exciting prospect and was praised at Racing Santander

Gonzalo Colsa, coordinator of the youth teams at Racing Santander, has spoken about youngster Pablo Torre, whom Barcelona have signed. The 18 year old has shone at Racing. Speaking to AS, Colsa said that “we want to try and create the maximum number of players for the first team. Later a Pablo Torre comes and if you can sell him for five million euros it’s welcome. But people should know it’s impossible, it’s something that happens every 10 or 15 years.”

Comparing Pablo Torre to Sergio Canales, Colsa said: “They are two players who you could see what they are capable of for years. These things don’t just happen overnight. They are two players who are very different from the rest of their team-mates. They make the difference and they’ve always been at the forefront of their generation. Each one has had their difficulties but sooner or later they had to go because they had the talent for it.”

He liked Torre’s attitude and the family he has around him.

“He played at Racing without a professional contract until he trained with the first team. The father knew about this and was sure of it. If I have a son who plays football one day, I’ll be sure of it. Controlled family environment, with his studies, with his friends, and when you go to train, look for an environment that makes it easier, but knowing that if you are good, you’ll make it.”
