Overmars: De Jong needs time to adapt himself
The Ajax sporting director spoke about the new Barcelona midfielder
Ajax sporting director Marc Overmars was one of the invited guests at the opening of the new Johan Cruyff stadium at Barcelona's training ground and he spoke about Frenkie de Jong. Barcelona signed the Dutchman from Ajax this summer.
"It's too soon to analyse his play at Barca, the league just started and he needs more time," said Overmars.
"Frenkie could play for 10 years here. We all need time to adapt ourselves. The coach should look for the best position for everyone (on the pitch, he said, when asked about De Jong's best role). That happened to us at Ajax too, he has to look for his best position, he needs time to know in which he is better."
