Ousmane Dembele suffered racist insults during the friendly with Russia
According to L'Equipe, Russian fans made monkey noises when he was on the ball
FC Barcelona star Ousmane Dembele was hit with racist abuse by Russian fans during France's 3-1 win in St Petersburg this week. L'Equipe say that winger was greeted with monkey chants when he touched the ball during the game, especially on two occasions when he took throw ins.
FIFA MUST INVESTIGATE
FIFA lately have come down hard on racism and ahead of the World Cup with 32 teams of all races and colours, should open an investigation and in the case of finding the reports to be true, should heavily sanction the Russian federation.
The player made no comment after the game although it is sure he would have heard them - perhaps trying not to give them importance in a country where racist insults from the stands has been common.
Dembele played 72 minutes before going off for Olivier Giroud.
