Ousmane Dembélé open to negotiating clause split with Barça

The mess of the clause is the last stumbling block in the operation. Sources at the Blaugrana club admit that the 50 million euro split was fifty-fifty, but that there are sufficient legal arguments to claim more money. PSG have already warned that they will not pay a euro more, so all the negotiation is centred between the player and the Blaugrana club. There have been some tense moments, but both parties understand want to avoid a trial that could go on for a long time and agree that the best thing is to reach an understanding.

Barça's idea is to propose a payment of around 30 million euros, so the player and his agent would have to give up part of what they are entitled to.

For the moment, Dembélé has not officially communicated that he has reached an agreement with PSG, pending talks with Barça on the matter. He has time until Friday, but in the next few hours he will make the move and the signing will be completed.

For the Blaugrana club, it is important to raise as much money as possible to focus on the signings they have pending. With the transfer income and the wage bill savings from Dembélé's exit, the club will gain a margin to make at least two top-level signings to reinforce the right-back and the attack.
