Oriol Busquets starts the long road back from injury
The Barcelona B pivote put out an optimistic message
Oriol Busquets has started the road to recovery, aiming to be back within five months. The Barca B midfielder had a reconstruction of the meniscus of his left knee and will be out for a long period - but he's taking it on with hope and enthusiasm.
Busquets said on social media: "The operation went very well. One day less until I recover!"
The player was given clearance to leave the hospital and go back home to sleep. The weeks ahead will see him move through the steps needed, based on how his knee recovers, bit by bit.
Busquets will miss the rest of the season and is aiming to be back for pre-season in optimal condition. The 19 year old is crucial for Gerard Lopez's Barca B side. He has enormous potential and this injury is only being looked at as a small pause.
Barça have total confidence in the player and want to renew his deal, which expires in June. For now he wants to recover and contact with his agent, Josep Maria Orobitg will restart in the coming days. Busquets has played for all of Barca's youth teams and his big dream is to make it to the first team - he made his debut in the cup.
