Only three European clubs can compete with Barça's staggering start to the season

Ernesto Valverde's FC Barcelona have made a fine start to the season. After 12 games, the Catalan side have dropped just two points, the draw with Atletico Madrid in October.
Barça's numbers have been historic. Beyond leading the table from Valencia and opening up a 10 point lead on Real Madrid, they have scored the most goals and conceded the least in the league.
Looking around Europe, only a few other clubs can match Barcelona's numbers.
First of all, we have PSG in France. Neymar's team lead Ligue 1 with 35 points, one more than Barça. However, Unai Emery's side have played one game more. They have scored more goals, but they have conceded more, too.
In Serie A, Napoli are a similar story. They lead the way in Italy, also with 35 points, but also having played one game more. But Napoli don't have a huge lead at the top, given the form of Juventus, Roma and Inter, who are all keeping close to them.
Meanwhile, Manchester City, coached by Pep Guardiola, are running away with the Premier League. City have the same record as Barça -- 11 wins and one draw -- but have scored more goals (40) than Barça. They have an eight point lead over Manchester United and nine over Chelsea.
However, Barça's biggest plus over their European rivals is their defence. Marc-Andre ter Stegen has conceded just four goals in 12 league games this season. Once again against Leganes, he made a number of fine saves on Saturday.
