Olympique Lyon's condition to buy defender Samuel Umtiti from Barca
The French side want to sell Lukeba before they make a move for their former centre-back
Samuel Umtiti will not continue at Barcelona and they hope that his departure can be formalised in time so that he does not have to report at the start of pre-season as he is not in the club's plans.
Umtiti could join Olympique Lyon, but according to 'Sports Zone', the French club will not make the final move until they manage to sell one of their stars, the central defender Castello Lukeba.
Lyon are hoping to get more than €20 million for Lukeba, a 20-year-old who has been one of the surprise signings of the season.
Several Premier League clubs are negotiating but there is still no agreement. Lyon and Barça have already spoke about Umtiti, but no further progress has been made so far.
Barça are asking for a minimum of €4m for the transfer plus a high percentage of any potential future sale of the French centre-back.
Umtiti is very clear that he will not continue at Barça and his priority is to listen to Lyon in order to return to the club that saw him succeed and play alongside former teammates who have been returning from abroad.
Lyon ruled out signing him because of the player's physical problems this season, but now they would be willing to enter the bidding. In Italy, Inter Milan and Roma have enquired about his situation but have yet to make a move.
