His buyout clause has been fixed at 100 million euros

Palmeiras have finally given the green light to the transfer of Yerry Mina, with Barcelona announcing the signing of the Colombian international defender on Thursday.

Barça had an option to sign him for €9 million in the summer but in the end had to pay an additional €2.8 million to bring the deal forward, with €600,000 due to a dispute over formation rights between Palmeiras and Mina's fomer club Santa Fe.

"FC Barcelona and Palmeiras have reached an agreement for the transfer of the player Yerry Mina for the remainder of the season and five more until June 30, 2023," the Catalan club said in a statement.

"The cost of the transfer is 11.8 million euros and the termination clause is 100 million.:

Mina arrives to cover the pending departure of Javier Mascherano, who will leave Camp Nou for the Chinese Super League this month.

He will compete with Samuel Umtiti, Gerard Pique and Thomas Vermaelen for a centre-back spot in Ernesto Valverde's side.
