Robert Lewandowski is a Barcelona player. Negotiations accelerated a lot between Barca and Bayern on Friday and the forward should arrive in Catalonia on Saturday.
Club sources say the deal will be closed at 45m euros plus 5m euros in variables. Barcelona didn’t want to pay 50 flat out and they won’t have to, although did have to raise their initial offer from 40 million euros.
The player’s will to come to Barcelona and the pressure he has put on to make it happen has been key. He did not want to be presented in front of the fans on Saturday with the rest of the Bayern squad. Now he will get his move and might come on the club’s US tour.
Although Barcelona and the player’s agent Pino Zahavi had agreed a deal for three years, the final offer will be four years that he will sign, sources told SPORT. One more year - to amortise the transfer over.
