Riqui Puig has renewed his contract to keep him at Barcelona until June 30, 2021. The deal was signed on Monday morning to keep the young player, who was wanted by various European clubs, at Camp Nou.
Puig is one of the most highly rated players in Barça's academy. His new three-year deal also has the option for an additional two years as well, while his release clause has risen to 100 million euros.
The deal was signed alongside Barça president Josep Maria Bartomeu, who was satisified to reach an agreement with the teenager.
Puig was a key part of the U19s team success in the UEFA Youth League this past season and also made his debut for the Barça B team, making three appearances in total.
Ernesto Valverde has also called him up to train with the first team on several occasions, something which will surely be repeated throughout the course of next season.
