Lionel Messi will miss around three weeks after fracturing a bone in his arm during Barcelona’s 4-2 win over Sevilla at Camp Nou on Saturday.
“Tests carried out on the first team player Leo Messi have confirmed that he has a fracture of the radial bone in his right arm. He will be out for approximately three weeks,” said Barcelona in a statement after the triumph which sent them top.
The Barcelona playmaker set up the first goal for Philippe Coutinho and scored the second himself before suffering the injury after 17 minutes when he turned and collided with Franco Vazquez.
Messi will miss the Champions League game against Inter Milan on Wednesday and the Clasico against Real Madrid on Sunday.
The forward is also expected to be out for the trips to Cultural Leonesa, Rayo Vallecano, and Inter again, aiming for a return against Real Betis before the game at Atletico Madrid on November 24.
