Official: Frank Kessie leaves Barca, signs for Saudi Arabia

A year after arriving in Barcelona, Franck Kessie has left for Al-Ahli in Saudi Arabia. He arrived as a free agent after finishing his contract with Milan, but the lack of prominence in Xavi's plans and the economic needs of the club have led to his departure.

The midfielder, who leaves after winning a double last season, will depart for a fee of 12.5 million euros. Last Thursday he passed his medical in France, and now the transfer has been announced.

The African player had been on the exit ramp all summer, but proposals from Italy (Juventus very interested), but also from Tottenham in England, had not been finalised.

Although the former Milan player initially preferred to stay in Europe, finally the insistence of Saudi Arabia has been key and he will earn a salary that will double his current one and that will be around 20 million euros per year.
