Official: Four game ban for Barcelona's Sergi Roberto!
The right-back's been hit with a lengthy suspension for his Clasico red card
The RFEF's Competition Committee have decided to ban Sergi Roberto for four games after his dismissal in Sunday's Clasico at Camp Nou.
The RFEF have ratified referee Alejandro Hernandez Hernandez's on-pitch decision after Sergi Roberto clashed with Real Madrid's Marcelo.
Sergi Roberto was sent off for "striking an opponent with excessive force with his arm" according to the referee's post-match report.
He will miss Wednesday's game against Villarreal and Barça's final two league games of the season against Levante and Real Sociedad.
The suspension will also run into next season, with the converted midfielder also set to miss the first leg of the Spanish Super Cup against Sevilla.
However, Barça feel the RFEF's decision is disproportionate and will lodge an appeal against the length of the ban.
