OFFICIAL: Everton sign Andre Gomes from Barça for €25m
FC Barcelona have confirmed the Portuguese midfielder's exit and the fee could rise depending on add-ons
André Gomes is officially an Everton FC player. Barça have confirmed that the Portuguese midfielder will join the Toffees for an initial €25m.
Gomes has signed a five-year deal at Everton which, when you include his season-long loan, could see him complete six years at the Premier League club.
"I'm really happy to sign the contract with Everton – it wasn’t hard to decide, it was an easy decision and I’m very happy to have made it,” Gomes told his new club's official channel 'evertontv'.
FOUR TITLES DURING HIS TIME AT BARÇA
Gomes played 79 matches for Barça and won four titles - one LaLiga, two Copa del Reys and a Spanish Super Cup. He joined the club from Valencia in 2016 but spent last season on loan at Everton. "Last year was a really good experience for me. I just wanted to feel part of something special and I found it here. It was good for me in that moment and right now, after signing for Everton, it's even better."
