The striker joins the Catalan club on a two-year deal

Sergio Aguero has signed for Barcelona from Manchester City on a free transfer after running his contract down at the English club.

Barça confirmed the transfer on Monday, announcing that Aguero has penned a two-year deal at Camp Nou. His release clause has been set a €100 million.

"FC Barcelona and Sergio ‘Kun’ Agüero have reached an agreement for the player to join the Club from 1 July when his contract with Manchester City expires," Barça said Monday.

"The player will sign a contract until the end of the 2022/23 season and his buy-out clause is set at 100 million euros."

Aguero, 32, was presented later in the day at Camp Nou but will fly to South America now for international duty with Argentina.

The Albicelste have two World Cup qualifiers coming up before the Copa America begins later in the summer.
