The midfielder has committed his future to the club until 2027

Great news. Barcelona can now rest easy about the future of Fermín López, one of the 'jewels' that has burst through the youth ranks and who has now signed a new contract with the club. The renewal ties him to Barça until 2027.

Fermín, who until now had a contract until 2024, will continue to play for Barça for the next four seasons. Barça made it official in a statement: "The midfielder signed his new contract this Tuesday at an event with the manager responsible for youth football, Joan Soler, the club's sporting director, Anderson Luis de Souza "Deco", and the director of youth football, José Ramón Alexanco, at the offices of the Joan Gamper Sports City."

The agreement for the 20-year-old's renewal comes just two days after his official LaLiga debut against Villarreal. The midfielder from El Campillo replaced Ilkay Gündogan in the 85th minute of the game.

The release clause in his new contract has been set at €400 million. It is an amount that reflects the club's confidence in him and how his future is valued in Xavi's plans. Fermín won the confidence of the coach during the pre-season and could be important in the rotations this season.
