Mateu Lahoz invented a penalty which Jonathan Calleri rammed home

Mateu Lahoz, the Valencian referee in charge of Barcelona's 1-1 draw at Las Palmas, became the protagonist once again. After not whistling for a clear handball outside his area by goalkeeper Leandro Chichizola, three minutes into the second half he invented a penalty.

A corner came in, and the ball travelled all the way through, hitting the far post and Lucas Digne's arm afterwards. No Las Palmas players appealed for anything but Lahoz pointed to the spot.

At first it seemed like it was given for Sergi Roberto tussling with Aguirregaray, but later it became apparent that it was for Digne's supposed handball.

Jonathan Calleri rammed home the penalty, impossible for Marc-Andre ter Stegen to save.
