Nolito: I don't need to explain how much Enrique helped me

Scoring four goals in the friendlies leading up to Euro 2016 and enjoying a wonderful season for Celta Vigo, Nolito is a player who has continuously been linked with a transfer to Barcelona this summer.

The 29-year-old is emerging as a figurehead in Vicente del Bosque's plans in France, and he spoke exclusively to SPORT before travelling to Toulouse to face the Czech Republic about how Luis Enrique was a vital component in his career.

"First, at a tactical level, when I arrived [at Barça B] I had no idea," he began.

"I learnt things and improved tactically a lot and was fine.

"I came with a few extra pounds and took them off with a diet, they're things that count.

"I was at a point in my career where I was in limbo.

"We all know how [Luis Enrique] is and I don't need to explain how much he helped me, but now I follow my own path."

With a potential reunion in Catalonia a firm possibility, Nolito wouldn't be drawn on his future intentions and is only focusing on Euro 2016.

"I'm quiet and only thinking about the European Championship," the Celta midfielder concluded.

"I don't usually see what is said about me and thus can be concentrated on achievements.

"I neither like nor dislike [the idea of a move to Barça].

"Since childhood I dreamt of playing with the Spanish team in the European Championship.

"Now I enjoy this moment, nothing else.

"I'm happy at Celta, I have a three-year contract and a buy-out clause.

"[Whichever club] is interested in me, you know what to do, but I'm really enjoying my time with the club."
