Nice execute option to sign Todibo from Barcelona for €8.5 million
The French defender returns to his homeland on a permanent basis
Barcelona announced Sunday that Nice have executed an option to make Jean-Clair Todibo's loan permanent in a deal worth an initial €8.5 million.
Todibo could end up costing Nice a total of €15.5m including add-ons, while Barça will maintain a percentage of any future sale. However, the Catalan club did not reveal how much.
"FC Barcelona wishes to publicly state its gratitude to Todibo for his commitment and dedication and wishes him all the very best of success in the future," the club said.
Todibo, 21, joined Barça in 2019 from Nice and made a few first-team appearances before being loaned to Schalke 04 in 2020.
He later spent time on loan in Portugal with Benfica, too, before joining French side Nice on loan earlier this year with an option to buy.
