"Neymar was not a coward like Luis Figo"

Former Barcelona president Joan Gaspart has compared the departures of Neymar and Luis Figo from Camp Nou in an interview with Radio Marca. 

Gaspart highlighted the differences between the two players, above all Figo, who left for Real Madrid during his presidency. 

"Figo left with treachery and with no time to renew the team. He was a coward who betrayed us. Neymar went for the money, full stop."

In this sense, with regards to Neymar possibly moving to Madrid, Gaspart said that "Neymar's possible move to Madrid is not comparable with Figo" given the circumstances. 

Neymar left for Paris Saint-Germain for €222 million last summer but his season ended when he broke a bone in his foot last weekend, ruling him out of Tuesday's game against Real Madrid. 

He underwent successful surgery in Brazil at the weekend and should be back to full fitness for this summer's World Cup.
