Neymar has still not responded to the contract renewal offer that has been made to him by Paris Saint-Germain. The Brazilian, who returned to his homeland this week with football suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic, has offered a new deal by the club's sporting director Leonardo. However, he has still not given a response.
According to the journalist Abdellah Boulma, reporting for French outlet 'Le10sport', Neymar received the offer at the end of last year, around October/November time. PSG are viewing his silence as a sign that he will not make any decisions until the end of the season, whenever that may now be with all football in Europe suspended.
The report adds that Neymar is waiting to see how PSG progress in the Champions League before making his mind up.
Neymar's objectives remain to win the Champions League and the Ballon d'Or. He knows that Barcelona would still like him back after failing to do a deal last summer and he will decide whether to pursue that option again or stay where he is later in the year. PSG may even be more willing to sell if he doesn't renew and re-invest in their squad.
