Neymar could be out for three months
The doctor in charge of his operation says it's not a fissure but a fracture
Neymar's injury is more serious than it seemed. Rodrigo Lasmar, the doctor in charge of operating on the player in Brazil, revealed this on Thursday.
The PSG star has a fracture in his fifth metatarsal and will be out for between two-and-a-half to three months. The doctor told this to Globoesporte, who covered the arrival of Neymar back in his homeland, in a wheelchair.
The player has a fracture rather than a fissure, which means he will not return until the middle of May. Brazil's World Cup campaign starts on June 17, against Switzerland.
Neymar will take surgery on Saturday at hospital Mater Dei in Belo Horizonte and according to the reports he is sad because he may not be able to feature for PSG in the Champions League final on May 26, should they get there without him.
