Newcastle United are starting to imagine how life will be once they have been taken over by the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, Mohamed bin Salman.

The Premier League side are looking at making use of their new-found wealth with a number of big signings and, according to the Express, are lining up a move for a Barcelona player.

Philippe Coutinho, currently on loan at Bayern Munich, is the player that has been linked with a move to St James' Park.

Newcastle will look to spend big to cut the gap on the Premier League's biggest clubs and the former Liverpool man is a player they could be interested in.

Barça will listen to offers for Coutinho, who they paid 160 million euros for in 2018. Bayern are unlikely to take up their option to sign him permanently.

There is plenty of Premier League interest. Tottenham are also keen, as are Chelsea and Everton. Barça hope the English interest will drive up the playmaker's price.
