He wants to ensure they remain on their toes in the fight for titles

Quique Setien, the FC Barcelona coach, wants to have all his players involved in the second half of the season as the club fight for three trophies.

The manager will use various initiatives to ensure his players remain highly motivated and one of them is linked with the way of playing.

Setien, 61, warned his players that the new system used against Granada will not be the definitive system between now and the end of the season.

He could change it up at any time and play with less populated midfield depending on the needs of the team and the opposition.

For that reason, all the players must be prepared for any change and ready if they're required by the coach. Those that started against Granada are not untouchable, just as the substitutes shouldn't think that they don't fir Setien's style.

Setien wants his team to be as versatile and competitive as possible. The players have taken on his message well so far. The best example is Arturo Vidal, a player who in theory doesn't fit Setien's style, but he started against Granada and followed his new boss' plan, setting up the winning goal with a backheel.

On Wednesday, against Ibiza in the Copa del Rey, we will have another chance to see how the Setien project will evolve.
