The club are trying to lighten the load on their wage bill and must take action

Barcelona are still working to lighten their salary load. Right now the club is suffering difficulties when it comes to finding exits for some players. There’s no player who has openly said they want to go. Braithwaite and De Jong have both said they are happy at the club.

So Barcelona are thinking about letting some go for free, with Neto and Umtiti the clearest two. The Brazilian keeper has a high salary for a second choice stopper.

That salary was key to him accepting to come as No 2 to Ter Stegen. The goalkeeper has a proposal from Lazio but they will only sign him if it’s for free.

Umtiti’s case is more complicated, as he has a deal until 2026. His latest injury stopped him leaving in January. Now he’s fit again, Barcelona are thinking about just letting him go.
