Nelson Semedo 'debuts' away from Camp Nou
The Portuguese defender started for the first time away from home
He had previously just played 40 minutes as a sub at the Bernabeu
Nelson Semedo played his first game as a FC Barcelona starter away from Camp Nou. Valverde had until now just trusted the Portuguese defender at home, but, in his native country, gave the former Benfica man a start against Sporting.
Barcelona beat Sporting 1-0 in Lisbon, with Semedo playing excellently and showing he can be dangerous down the right and also defend well too, helping solve problems for his team-mates.
Semedo had previously just played 40 minutes as a substitute in the Spanish Super Cup at the Santiago Bernabeu away from home, but at home against Betis, Espanyol, Juventus and Eibar.
