Murtaza did not want to separate himself from Lionel Messi

The start of the story dates back to the beginning of the year, when the six-year-old (then five), from Afghanistan, became an Internet sensation

Al Ahli vs Barcelona was preceded by a nice story. Murtaza, the Afghan child who is a big fan of Leo Messi, would not leave the player’s side while on the pitch at the start of the game, after walking out with the star.

He could not bear to separate himself from the No 10 and in the end the referee had to carry off the youngster before the kick-off.

The start of the story dates back to the beginning of the year, when the six-year-old (then five), from Afghanistan, became an Internet sensation after being pictured in an Argentina shirt made from a plastic bag.

In the image Murtaza was wearing the blue and white bag, which had Lionel Messi's name and number written on the back in pen.

After the image went viral and the boy was located, Messi sent and official Argentina shirt and signed it. He also sent a Barcelona shirt, too.

"I’m very happy to have met my hero," Murtaza said after the meeting, before the game. "It is a dream for me. I can’t wait to see Messi at the game, it will be the first time for me in the stadium.”
