Barcelona coach Ernesto Valverde confirmed that Juan Miranda is training with the first team this week in case it's possible that he's needed against either Leganes (Wednesday) or Athletic Bilbao (Saturday).

The Barça B left back was called up for Spain's U19 training camp but the Catalan club asked the RFEF for permission for him not to join up with the young squad.

Valverde explained: "Miranda stayed back becasue we have three games in a week and he's one of the options.

"The national team call-up was just a training camp, there's no official game. We asked if he could stay becuase of the difficulty of the games this week, with one game away from home."

After Lucas Digne moved to Everton and Marc Cucurella was loaned to Eibar, Miranda is the club's understudy to Jordi Alba at left-back.

Miranda has not been called up to the squad for Wednesday's game against Leganes but could feature at the weekend if Valverde wants to rest Alba ahead of the trip to Tottenham.
