Miralem Pjanic will have two salaries this season
The Bosnian has a curious loan deal with Besiktas where he's paid by both clubs this season
Miralem Pjanic is history now at Barcelona. Even though his contract goes until June 2024, it will be hard to imagine him back in the club’s colours. On Thursday he flew to Besiktas, where he will play on loan.
Mateu Alemany got him to reduce his salary by around 50 per cent, according to sources close to the negotiations.
The Bosnian got around eight million euros a year, and now he will get four. The board managed to make him accessible for other clubs in this way.
There is a curiosity about the deal. Pjanic’s contract with Barca is 4m euros per season but this season Besiktas also pay him 2.75m euros - so he gets 6.75m euros in this campaign.
