Mingueza and Araujo are made of first team material
The Catalan and Uruguayan formed an impressive partnership in defence
Ronald Araujo and Oscar Mingueza formed a solid partnership in defence in the win over Real Sociedad. The leaders visited Camp Nou and it was no time for experiments but they lined up together and helped Barca to a 2-1 win. They showed Ronald Koeman that they can play at this level.
Mingueza and Araujo played together for the first time in the first team, but they had done so before at B team level and worked well. They never made life hard for themselves in defence with the ball.
Mingueza was alert to danger and showcased his fine anticipation. He has cold blood and doesn't lose his nerve. He made just one mistake, in the 74th minute, with Isak benefitting until Pedri ran back to defend brilliantly.
However after 79 minutes he felt some muscular problems and went off for Clement Lenglet.
Araujo made no mistakes and won all his duels, including a tackle on Januzaj in the box which Real Sociedad wanted a penalty for. He also did well in a battle with Willian Jose.

Araújo también cumplió el expediente con buena nota.
