The Italian side are deperate to convince the dutch forward to move to the San Siro

Memphis Depay is one of the most coveted players in Europe at the moment. The fact he is out of contract with Lyon next summer and will not renew means he will be available for cheap in January.

Depay's desire is to move to Barça and the Catalans are favourites to sign the Dutch forward, who played under Ronald Koeman with the Netherlands. However, the financial and institutional uncertainty at Camp Nou means it's still not a done deal.

That's where Milan come into the equation. The Italian side are trying to convince Depay to join them rather than wait for Barça, who failed to get a deal over the line in the summer.

'Calciomercato' report that Milan have told Depay he's the perfect replacement for Zlatan Ibrahimovic. The Swedish striker is having a great season but at 39 the club must think long-term.

They would be able to offer Depay, formerly of PSV Eindhoven and Manchester United, a massive pay rise.

After beating Saint-Etienne last weekend, Depay suggested he would leave in January, saying he could not promise supporters he would remain at the club until the end of the season when his deal expires.
