Aleña had one year left on his current deal but has committed his future to Barça

It's not clear where he will play his football next season: Barça, Barçå B or on loan

Carles Aleña is staying. The midfielder, who had just one year left on his deal, has reached an agreement to renew his contract with Barcelona for three more seasons. There were a number of offers for him to leave Barça, but in the end he's accepted the offer from the Catalan club.

So, Aleña will continue with Barcelona, which good news for everyone involved with the club after what has happened with other players, such as Jordi Mboula, Eric Garcia and Mateu Morey, who have left for Monaco, Manchester City and Bayern Munich respectively.

Aleña, who is represented by Ivan de la Peña and Carles Puyol, will sign his new deal in the coming weeks as he is currently in Ibiza enjoying some time off after helping Barça B achieve promotion back to the second tier of Spanish football.

For now, according to Barça's statement, Aleña will continue with Barça B in the second division. However, when he's promoted to the first team, his contract will be extended by two more years and his release clause will increase to 75 million euros.

However, it's also not been ruled out that he could be loaned out to another La Liga club in the coming season.
