Barcelona forward Lionel Messi has paid tribute to former teammate Ronaldinho, who officially hung up his boots this week.
Messi, who played with Ronaldinho in his early years at Camp Nou, posted the emotional message on Instagram.
They played under Frank Rijkaard, winning two leagues (2004-05 y 2005-06), a Champions League (2005-06) and two Supercopas de España (2005-06 y 2006-07).
"As I always said, I learned a lot by your side," Messi wrote. "I will always be grateful for how easy you made it for me when I joined the first team.
"I was lucky enough to share many things with you and that's great because, as well as being a phenomenon with the ball, you're a fantastic person. And that's the most important thing.
"Even though you've decided to leave [the game], football will never forget your smile. All the best, Ronnie."
