Leo Messi plays at Alaves and Benzema takes on Leganes

With the league title decided and two of the three relegation spots confirmed, attention will be elsewhere on Sunday when La Liga comes to a conclusion.

Real Madrid are champions and Espanyol and Mallorca will be relegated, while Barcelona, Atletico Madrid and Sevilla have qualified for the Champions League.

Villarreal, meanwhile, will be in the Europa League but there are two more European places to play for, while Celta Vigo and Leganes are the two teams that could yet still be relegated.

Eyes will also be on the fight for the Pichichi. The two players in the running are Barça's Lionel Messi and Madrid's Karim Benzema, who will play against Alaves and Leganes this weekend.

Going into the final round of games, Messi has the advantage with 23 goals to Benzema's 21. The Argentine is after the seventh Pichichi of his career.

Everything is in Messi's favour, although Benzema's in good form, scoring four times in the last three matches. Meanwhile, Messi's scored four since the league resumed in June.

The fight has got tighter, then, and Messi may need to score this weekend to guarantee the trophy.

LEGEND

Messi wants to end the season as La Liga's top scorer for the seventh time in his career. If he does, he will enter the history books by moving past the number of times it was won by former Athletic forward Temo Zarra -- six times.
